This reuters article says they don't think the settop boxes and other infrastructure will be installed
anytime soon. The tone of the article is generally negative as regards IATV like stuff on cable and I
think the article is wrong. TCI may have to prove it can really do what it says to counter such articles
though.<<

Jeff,

Please contact us when you get back. Have a safe trip. And thanks for the article URL.

IMHO, that article is definitely a mixed message regarding where the $ will ultimately fall. As I read its logic, the writer appears to be saying that the $ from subscribers will be so widely dispersed that the technology will end up being "pocket change" for most everyone involved. If that's one gist of the piece, I'm find myself a bit skeptical. NextLevel (General Instruments) will do fine, I am sure.

The point the writer makes that digitally interactive TV (DITV) will take more time and resources to develop a broad market is obvious to the point of "duh."

So maybe the writer intended to create a synopsis of what's what in the status of DITV for the presently informed impaired?

If the writer of that article is reading this post, give us a hand and develop your points further. Sure would like to chat with him/her.
