Dave, I agree that China has the Potential for being a growth engine but they are a long way from being there. Their infrastructure is dated to around the 40's and they still do banking by abacus. It took Japan 30 years to become an industrial giant and they had lots of help. China's experimentation with western business styles is really no more than that. They are not embracing western politics/economics, just our money and technology. They will nibble here and there stictly controlling everything. IMO they are 15/20 years away from being that indistrial powerhouse if they actually make the commitment to do so and dont' self distruct over ideology in the interim.
