One of the most disturbing aspects of the WSJ article on Foster Freiss' move out of technology was the fact that he went abroad to Asia and Japan, saw what was there to be seen, then came home and obviously started selling tech stocks in a very, very big way. This fellow is not known for being irrational. He is a very savvy and credible investor. Elaine Garzarelli said many of the same things about her recent trip abroad to Asia on CNBC the other afternoon, and although a lot of folks thinks she lacks credibility, her comments seemed to corroborate what the journal reported that Friess had to say. The upshot of all this is that it bodes ill for tech stock investing for some time to come, probably. In other words, we have not seen the bottom yet, and may not for quite awhile.
