Aristotle talks about forms of "communism" is the Politics, FWIW.

BTW, Nietzsche knew about Buddhism and criticized it.

>Marx's main contribution was an analytical study of capitalism. <

His system of government was founded on wishful thinking and denial of human nature. The written expectation (from my recollection of Das Kapital) was that the dictatorship of the proletariat would last about five years and that eventually politics would fade away. Anyone who watches people knows that 90% of them are more driven by social factors (where do I stand in the community) than objective efficiency and egalitarianism (how do we ALL live better). I have seen good ideas thrown in the trash heap because it lowered some group's power or esteem. No agency or other administrative unit ever declares its purpose "complete" and thereby initiating the decline of its power. Some of our customers send people on the audit team with the apparent intent of proving to their peers that we are a bad choice. This is not a technical goal but a political goal, as SaaS is an existential threat to CTOs who have big internal budgets.
