Petro yuan futures began trading last March. The currency exists. Now all they have to do is use it to buy oil (from Russia first, then Saudi Arabia etc.)

Exclusive: China taking first steps to pay for oil in yuan this year - sources

HONG KONG/BEIJING (Reuters) - China is taking its first steps towards paying for imported crude oil in yuan instead of the U.S. dollar, three people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, a key development in Beijing’s efforts to establish its currency internationally.

<snip>

Both Russia and Angola, like China, are keen to break the dollar’s global dominance. They are also two of the top suppliers of crude oil to China, along with Saudi Arabia.

Reuters

We know where to look, Russia first (most likely), then Angola, then Saudi Arabia.

What China is doing now is odd. It's hitting individual farmers in Trump states and destroying them but no one will ever know about it. Trump only has to utter a word of insanity and his cult will ignore the damage he's causing. This is why I'd do something bigger (similar to what Trump did to ZTE but much bigger). ZTE was the key. Trump saw he could nearly destroy a Chinese company and barely lift a finger. They need to do the same but do it on a bigger scale because defeat is the only thing Trump understands. He's had so much time perfecting defeat it's who he is.

I'm positive Putin has read Sun Tzu. Trump, not so much.
