How is that going? How much oil imports are they paying with Yuan today?
In a March 2018 article,

nine million barrels of oil every day and it wants to use its own currency to price the world's most-traded commodity."

Even without the "petro-yuan" scenario you put forward, China can wage a capital war against the US by simply not buying/dumping their treasury at key moments and cause a lot of pain.
