The problem with BMI is it doesn't account for muscle mass. It is a good starting point. I'm overweight from a daily dish of ice cream... that I can't seem to kick. Sugar really is bad and I'll eventually get to it.

I may eventually do the heart scans to check for other stuff but family history doesn't have people dropping dead early due to heart attacks... alcohol abuse, gross obesity without muscle and high BP from smoking and other things are more of a problem for my family so I've put the work there.

FWIW, Arnold Schwarzenegger was 260# at 6'2" during his off season when he wasn't cutting carbs to show muscle...

I calculate that gave him a BMI of 33.4

I had a windsurfing friend FA friend who United said his BMI was too high to be a FA... he not only windsurfed but he was into muscle building and may have competed locally...
