The policy is not irrelevant. Policy gets translated into talking points that in turn have an emotional impact. Trump is a very good case in point. You cannot deny that he is implementing the policies that he talked about during his campaign. From xenophobia to protectionism to anti-environment - he is following his promised platform. And he was able to translate that platform into a visceral message. Dems need to learn to do the same. There is no shortage of material. There is a shortage of vision and conviction.
