Read all the postings and also spent some 20 mins on the prospectus. Here are my thoughts: First, positive: -online tickets sales, an internet play -have presense on AOL and also excite -my feeling that company will eventually move out of the losing tv infomercials business -still "undiscovered", hence "playable". -valuationwise wrt other internet commerce plays this one is better play. -tickets can be purchased over phone or in person or over net, absolutely no difference. Just like cds/books, dont have to look at it before purchasing it. Now the laundry list: -have to take on the mights of expedia of Microsoft, travelocity which is pretty popular and has a yahoo deal, internet travel network flks, travelweb flks and other existing & future players. THere are going to be MORE new players coming on, including the airline companies themselves -losing money in some no good tv infomercial business which the online profits have to earse before they can become profitable. -the managements ability to handle growth when it comes and draw customers when the dont come is very crucial. This is not rocket science or technology, this is about using technology and creating explosive growth and then managing it efficiently. -the online agents getting slashed from 10% to 5% commissions, thats a 50% cut in revenues and >50% cut in profits!! More cuts could come! Did I hear 4%??? -they are still unknown outside AOL. A very bad sign, the web besides AOL is much bigger but have heard only of expedia and travelocity till now and I am not an AOLer. They need to get more visibility, the earlier the better. Besides, the sales are in billions but the revenues to such agents is only 5% of these sales. Must not be misled by the billions. Tempted to step in. Will watch some more for the stock to find a trading zone. Jags
