In both countries center-right -- far right -- promotes dangerous hatred. In ALL relatively prosperous western democracies we have the same problem: a declining birth rate , such that national populations are shrinking . The ONLY way to solve the problem is to accept large numbers of immigrants. From 2004 — "Population became self-limiting with the advent of the pill in Europe, the UK and North America. Paradoxically, those nations that could best afford population growth grew the least, probably the aggregate of individual decisions. People decided not to prejudice their own prosperity with too many children . The outcome was that those nations soon found themselves with declining, aging populations, and a need for unskilled labour. To solve their problem, they looked to immigration which they got from nations with strongly-growing populations. That resulted in large expatriate populations within the more advanced nations. Their still-high growth rates and cultural predilections challenge the balance of power - perhaps even the underlying national precepts - within the host countries. This, the legitimate result of large blocs voting democratically within these countries ." ————————————————————————————So we NEED immigrants . Apparently, center-right didn't get the memo . ———————————————————————————— However what's happening in the 'States is also occurring globally -- and was predicted long ago Dangerous times. I don't know if Canada can withstand coming pressures. My vote goes to those who try to keep us together. Jim
