No, your scenario works given the right assumptions. If the original series S crowd shorted around $6 they have a tremendous profit. If they have not covered yet they are getting free stock to cover with. They made the money on the short side way above the 25M invested in long stock. If they get a load of $1 stock they can cover a large short position. We don't know what the short size is if it is not all reported. I am not saying I am convinced of the crtel theory but this is how I understand its proponents to think. Is Dwight still lurking? He has a handle on Series S scenarios.

DS,

I don't think your way out in left field, but not exactly right about the preferred shareholders interest.

It's a matter of timing. If the preferred shareholders can keep the price low until they can convert their shares(March, I believe) then they will be able to receive more shares of common stock. You are right in saying that this alone does not yeild a return on their investment.

However, IMO QDEK is a $5.00 stock (given good sales). So, if they can convert with a conversion price of $2.00 rather than $5.00 you have a much better return than if you convert at $5.125 and hope the stock goes to $6.00. This stock will get to $3.00 in '98. Whether it goes to $6.00 is another matter.
