Yes and add in the pensions they get and it is absurd. Of course we want good people in government but I got one of my most liberal, Libertarian bashing, friends to stop talking politics when windsurfing when I pointed out his bragging about "retiring" and collecting a pension while he "worked" half time at NASA to earn enough to put three kids through college while his wife was a "stay at home mom" was more than most of his friends working in tech could afford... I said "Of course you want us to pay higher taxes so you can stay retired and work half time for the same salary as a "contractor" ... SOMEBODY has to pay for it!
