Within the genre, there are those who "scalp"; momentum players and position traders - there are subtle differences between them. Then there is a world of difference between those who trade equities, and those who trade options. Commodity traders are a different breed entirely; Personally, I consider the index futures traders to be at the top of the heap.

Day traders all have one thing in common, though: they love the action - ie., involvement. It becomes a "life style" with compulsive and narcissistic overtones, not unlike gambling and body building.
