Fitting? Yes sir, it really is. What Ralph Elliott did was uncover some repetitive patterns in the markets. The theory is that those patterns reflect rhythmic, fractal processes in the collective unconscious of market participants.

So, it's in a way related to what psychiatrists do. In fact, since its about the unconscious, it's probably closer to Psychoanalysis, than to General Psychiatry.
