Given what I know about you, I don't think your taxes will go down. You make too much and you live in the wrong state. Sorry about that but you weren't targeted for a tax deduction. Not everybody was.

It's not just lower rates, but the standard deduction was doubled from 12k to 24k to offset anticipated reductions in the deductiblility of SALT.

And I agree with one of the deductions eventually going away, namely the mortgage interest deduction.

You realize that killing the mortgage interest deduction will kill the housing market???? Now that's opening pandora's box...
