Does anyone have an idea of what percentage of the equipment/infrastructure contracts QCOM has won. LU and other seem to be getting the really big ones(was the last LU $100 million). Has QCOM chosen to lay lesser emphasis on these contracts. I don't recall QCOM winning a contract bigger than $20 million(or is it $10 million)recently. I am afraid that they will get boxed out by the bigger boys (LU, NT,...) in the equipment end and by nimbler manufacturers SONY, Korean.... in the hand set end. How is it that LU wins CDMA equipment contracts, shouldn't QCOM be better at it than LU??

Harvey, I agree Nextwave could have excellent upside potential for qcom. What involvement did qcom have in the infrastructure for Las Vegas?

I understand SURF has a very good understanding of qcom's cdma technology and hence their aggressiveness in the c-block auction. However the volume of dollars ( $4 bil.) was so large and doubt was being cast, that foreign companies became their only viable options for financing. Talk about bad timing (foreign ownership and then SEA issues).

I have no idea how much cash they can raise to support their licence payments and buildout, but something tells me they will raise money but substantially less than they would like. Can they provide investors with secured interests in license locations, or allow investments by location such as a franchise?

It will be a nice upside for qcom especially in infrastructure development. I believe qcom has some exposure in this deal ($15-$20 mil?). Is Feb 28 another key time frame for SURF decisions? Thanks.
