Financing plays a big part in the awarding of contracts. The time frame of a contract also impacts the reported value.

Qualcomm is a "strategic partner" with Nortel. A win means Qualcomm base stations and controlers coupled with Nortel switches and control software. Aren't these the necessary "best-of-breed" ingredients for WLL? The Q's time will come.

LU knows CDMA!!! They know it very well and have the best engineers in the business....as for NT, I have heard that QCOM was taking some good talent from them 6 months ago....

Alot of these contracts has to do with the financing....LU and NT can provide the operator with more financing since they have better cash flow.....THAT IS A FACT.....

QCOM is the best at CDMA IMHO...it should be so as they brought the technology to fruition in wireless applications...it should be noted that if other companies continue to have difficulties rolling out an IS-95 CDMA product, QCOM will be in jeopardy....perhaps the 5 MHz channels are easier to implement from a handset perspective.....they could then gain momentum.....Just a thought.....

Take care
