Hunt for a local coffee roaster. I found one after my supplier in St. Louis retired and am very happy with their espresso beans. Store bought coffee is not good at all. Neither is Starbucks, imo.

Since you asked...

I use Peet's Espresso Forte beans

peets.com

A Gaggia grinder

amazon.com

A Gaggia Classic espresso machine

coffeecrew.com

And a milk frother similar to this one

amazon.com

This combination results in a latte that surpasses all chain coffee shops, and all but a few specialized independent/craft coffee roaster shops.

People make excuses to stop by my place in hopes that I will make them one. I usually do.

Peet's coffee prints the roast date on the packaging, so you know when it was roasted.

I've worked out a very concise choreography to my coffee ritual, and it takes about 5 minutes for the entire process, including clean-up, not including the recommended 15 minute warm-up time for the Gaggia Classic. It provides consistently superior results.

I'm not posting my address, but if anyone's interested, please PM for details and I'll be happy to share what I know.

Senseo by Phillips.

It is significantly better than Keurig. Makes a cup with a nice froth, much like a cappuccino.
