One good place to watch consumer pricing on hard drives (or any other major product) is pricewatch.com

It looks to me like hard drives still dropping a bit. Maybe as much as 1% to 2% a week.

Give it a look.

Randy

More Price Deterioration

I have been watching the price of hard disks at several Internet vendors. 6.4GB is at $270 for Quantum, IBM and Fujitsu. If you look at all of the new Dell ads, the minimum size is 4.3GB with most having either 6.4 or 8.4 sizes. There is no longer a low and a high end in desktop drives. I think another round of earnings warnings are coming. I'm out of WDC on any strength. I'm going to hang in on QNTM. FWIW, the money being raised from sale of WDC is going into either cash or Rydex Ursa. This market is dead meat for another quarter at least.
