<off-topic> Thanks for trying, Sand. But my question is still not answered. Can I pick up a public phone in Canada and dial a toll free 1800 number that connects me to a US site, say my broker? When I was in Canada a few weeks ago I called Waterhouse's 1800 from a public phone as well as from a hotel room. However, Waterhouse is owned by Toronto Dominion Bank. I just did not have another handy US 1800 number I could call at that time to see if it works other than Waterhouse. It still bugs me to this date.
