Censorship STILL sux.

But freedom of speech is a *itch for those who would seek to deny it. <g>

The SI Admins don’t have a good track record of listening to their members, but even they can’t stay in denial forever. One of the obvious things I pointed out a few years ago was the uselessness of the Markets page. Yahoo had been SI’s financial data provider, and it was a darn good service at the time. I imagine Yahoo was dropped as a cost saving measure. There is nothing wrong with that, and it may have been a necessary action; however, what the replacement for Yahoo provided was so slipshod that it was only a “service” in name. The Admins wouldn’t acknowledge that at the time. Maybe the improvements competitors have made to their web sites don’t allow the admins the luxury of denying it now.

Dmitry would probably get more feedback if he posted this on the New Feature Discussion board:

I see a huge shortcoming with the roll out at present, but he should be allowed to finish it. Hopefully, it will be something useful for SI members when it's done.

Okay, it appears that it’s time to bust on Dmitry again. With the roll out to a new set of financial data service providers, SI seems to have taken yet another step backwards. Dmitry says, “When using the "Market Data" view on StockTalk Subject pages associated with a ticker, Members are now able to access interactive stock price history without leaving the page”.

What he doesn’t tell members is how to find the interactive stock price history on a ticker if it isn’t associated with a StockTalk Subject page. Doing a quote search under Tools no longer works.
