Hello,, I just spent an hour reading this thread due to the stock getting
smacked badly since it was picked by Individual Investor for their Magic 25 list (down form $68.25). Well, after an hour of reading dozens of posts I will not buy this stock. I have never seen a thread with so little "real" information about the subject,,,in this case QCOM.

Dan, Neeraj, Skip and Ramsey - Agree there are lots of reasons for low margins - start-up etc. On a point by Dan #7116 (who probably has his spreadsheet set up this way) there is the following statement that due to minority interest held by Sony - Qcom gets revenues of whole Joint venture and it sounds like it ships 49% of profits to Sony. Skip and or Dan if this is wrong interpretation or if this is not true, please explain.

<The way the phones flow through to Sony is via the "interest to minority shareholder
line"

.....it is basically a subtraction of profits sent to Sony....

QCOM gets all the revenues.....that is due to the 51% ownership factor.....HUGE
increase in phone sales = HUGE growth in the company....

approximately $300 is underestimating their revenues....phones are sold for probably
350-400 on average...remember, the operators subsidize the sale of phones...the
phones aren't compatible with EVERY operators systems either.....due to the
programming....>
