This may not be very bad news, but it is not good news.

Congress has given the INS over $20 million for fingerprint equipment, and the INS is supposed to have those machines installed, pronto. It's not happening; the machines are trickling in. The INS has made no fingerscan contract announcement. The newspaper said the money wasn't available. To me, that means that the appropriation has not gotten into an approved contract yet . . . so this implies a delay. If there were more money out there, we would have seen Congressional action . . . and there hasn't been any more since November. (I wouldn't expect any at this time of the year.)

Didn't you once post that you were stocked up with Snickers?

bg,
I agree with you. They apparently have the money. What is the hold up? I don't believe they can change their minds and use the money for some thing else.

Did you hear about the guy caught trying to drive $27+ million in herion across the Texas border from Mexico? They checked the car out because he appeared a little nervous!
