Thanks, Bob! The approach I'm using has been shown to do better than Buy and Hold, even considerably so... while significantly reducing risk. Much smaller drawdowns. Found that it takes years - and a significant effort - to grow into this simple idea. Constant work to maintain confidence. On the positive side - high odds for not staying too wrong for too long.

My data disagrees a bit unfortunately. I have similar data in crash of 2008 in terms of crash, bounce then ......crash. Most data good. Worst data are early in 2011 decline, 2008 (earlier the worse), 2007. My twitter friend Steve Deppe says 4 week downs followed by outside reversals up are pretty bearish in his data on semis too.
