The reality is that this is very common in the first term of a President...to lose the House to the opposing party. The Dems will play this up like it's a HUGE shift in public sentiment. But the fact is that the big superstars like Gillum and Beto and McCaskill LOST. The GOP picked up more seats in the Senate. The fact is that the country is evenly split between support for Trump and support for Democrats. There was no Blue Wave. It was just hype and bullshit coming from the MSM....as usual. Now we get gridlock. This is usually good for markets, at least in the short term. The Democrats are going to make a short show of bipartisanship and then they will waste their new House powers on never ending investigations into Trump and those in his orbit. This will make the American people even more sick of the waste of tax money going on in Congress, which will not be good for Democrats in 2020. If Trump keeps doing what he's doing, he'll outlast the hysterical Dems and probably get re-elected in 2020, ESPECIALLY if Hillary runs again. Right now, I don't see any Dem candidate that can beat Trump. This election proved there are still too many GOP leaning voters who are willing to come out in force to put a check on the liberals. That is excellent news for Trump's 2020 chances. The mob mentality, violence, lawlessness, outrage, and hysteria among the Dems and their Socialist leanings have scared the conservatives and moderates into voting with the GOP. So unless things change dramatically by 2020, then it will be 4 more years of Trump. Oh and btw, if Nancy Pelosi wins Speaker, she will not allow an impeachment proceeding. She's too smart for that. If a more liberal (than Nancy!!) wins the Speakership and they impeach Trump, then he will not get convicted in the Senate, and that will absolutely galvanize the GOP to vote Trump in 2020. So the Dems have actually painted themselves into a tidy little corner with their own shenanigans.
