Seems to me the r's could have done a better job in congressional races.

I agree.

What disturbs me the most is all the Republicans and RINO's that gave up in the last 2 years ASSUMING a
wipeout midterm election by the Dimms. These are people like Jason Chaffetz and Paul Ryan and many other
incumbents that could have won and likely kept the House.

They are the real traitors. I'm glad they are gone now, but they could have helped their party and Country.

Brit Hume touched on it last night. They need younger talent to run and more "touchy/feely" people that can tell stories like the Dems do. People fall for that crap.

Some younger faces did not do well either for the R's. James got smacked in Michigan. (racist Dems) and I'm not sure if Mia Love won yet in Utah.

They could have, but this was a polarized race. There were a few R's that distanced themselves from Trump, which does make them look more moderate, but then that tamps down enthusiasm among Trump supporters to come out and vote for them. So those R's who distanced themselves found themselves losing to a more enthused D base. That's my opinion. I have not statistics to back this up, though. Bottom line is that when the country is polarized, you lose by distancing yourself from a pole. I wish it were different, but that's life. I wish wholeheartedly that we had a centrist party, like the libertarians, but viable and big enough to win against the Ds and Rs. They'd get my vote.
