Looks like some new faces here in WDC land. <g>

Don't do anything rash <g> -- I'm waiting until all the releases are done before considering any trades.

Encouraging news on the server side with positive implications for enterprise drive demand.

On the consumer side, root for Origin Systems' Ultima Online, which reportedly requires 500MB for a full install. <g> It's the first large scale commercial success of the so-called "hybrid" net/CD format.

Here's a thought -- the spread of CD-ROM drives to mass market penetration and then to its current ubiquity was accompanied by increasing HDD storage demand resulting from the bigger--MUCH bigger--distribution platform available to software vendors.

Next up ... DVD.

Tom,

I was wondering if you have any feel for a bigtime acquisition of an American investment bank by an European looking to go global. I'm betting the next up the aisle is Bear Stearns, cause they're big, instititional, and independent. Just think, wouldn't it be a nice fit: UBSBS - Twice the BS for your buck!
