OFF TOPIC: Financial Services

Lawrence, I'm not convinced. I think UBS and SBC will have to digest on one another before aquiring any more cos. SBC is quite well positioned with Dillon Read and Warburg already, in my estimation.

Deutsche Bank is rumored again and again to make an aquisition. But they recently got Morgan Grenfell already, and I think they are looking more to France or Europe in general.

Credit Suisse owns First Boston already.

ING? ABN-Amro?

Wild guess: Any of the Austrian banks? (I doubt it culturally-wise)

The French are out of the picture IMO: State-owned, quite a lot of Asian exposure, cultural clashes with U.S. abound.

So all in all I have no idea, but I would expect that at least UBS/SBC will not make another big aquisition anytime soon (let's say this year). All of course JMHO. Hope I could help you.

Thomas
