On the first post you put up you are incorrect. No I answered honestly. You did not understand it or were unaware of the details. I am. TOO many see me run strings/mention numbers and do not understand while I have a thought process that doesn't mean I've done this or that. WHEN I do something and when I can state such. I'll say so. After all I stated I sold JPM in the 60's a few years ago and for those who keep track I was VERY EARLY. I gave away 50 ish points. THAT is honesty to acknowledge one left some 250% on the table which you are correct there is always a risk you can't get in or do not get bacj in. I chose to NOT get in at the 52 which was STILL over 100% up. However I chose to do so and went else where. I was looking for the 44 re JPM to shift to the leaps and the 60 which would have been one heck of a score. Unfortunately I oopsed. However anyone who took JPM off it's lows did very well even in the 60's. Here and now I expect JPM to drop to the 80's. And why I am bewildered by Buffets early entry of some 5 B. He must have another reason other than to buy VALUE.

So, Yes I am mostly in cash. I don't sweat the sitting and waiting. Tis better than taking a serious hit and waiting.

I do hold a few long term core that I hold due to they are very predictable and I also understand they will continue up and I won't be chasing in what I consider to be market where one needs to be careful buying.

I do flip in and out of NUGT..

Ditto SOXS and SDOW SOXS.

I'm on record re what I for each of those sectors and I play accordingly with a very good understanding of the ETF's and their history. OR I'm not expecting 177 for Nugt but I am expecting 1620/1782/1944 for GOLD in x time and higher over y time.

I'll only buy a stock or sector I understand. At this moment and probably if I buy it will be with calls. I am known to take 1000c-10k c when I do. I'm looking for that pop. I did that successfully with BAC/GE/MSFT a few times. I did it successfully to the downside via deeps with CAT twice. While holding the core as long stated.

I'm an open book when I can be but let's keep it real. If I'm considering building to 1000c up to 10k c I'm not going to signal such and that would apply to writing when I expect downside. Ya know. hey I see CAT dropping to 70 from 115 and I'm.. OH wait I did put that up. Unfortunately some thought me nuts. HMM they thought the same re GOLD to 1174 which I called as a safe target. Time has proven that to be a very objective call.

Until.. Let me know when GE hits 1 WINK. And of course IMHO

ADDENDUM and for clarity. I read that post in full and I realize you are not aware I OWNED GE long term core with a 9.11 cost basis. That 20 was just a small bite last year. As in SMALL. Yup the devil Is in the details. As for selling covered calls. I don't know about DA and GE but I do know we disagreed re CAT as I had a 70 from the 115 and he only saw the 95. If I remember I was asked if I was serious. HMM YUP. It not only dropped that hard once but TWICE. CAT was predictable to the down UNTIL this year when I could see it was WAY ahead of itself and now we see why? Has CAT seen it's bottom. Doubt such.
