The rumor I heard was the FDA was forcing Diwan & TheraCour to untangle their parasite-host relationship with NNVC at some point. I don't exactly know why the FDA is concerned, but that's the rumor.
I suggest that you might want to give serious consideration to the possibility that you have a totally unreliable source. Please. The FDA WOULDN'T BE concerned.
I have given it serious consideration. Sorry if it appeared that I was claiming it was true. I thought I was providing enough of a disclaimer above that it may be untrue or severely distorted.

Yet, the rumor exists...seemingly tracking back to insiders. More specifically, that Diwan could not be the COB, president and/or controlling shareholder of NNVC, the licensor and the producer of the drug to NNVC, who is on track to apply for IND and NDA. NNVC is so low on funds as to be considered "judgment proof". As I stated before, I don't understand the exact nature of the concern...Maybe the FDA feels Diwan and TheraCour should be the party submitting the NDA and assuming the liability risk. I do not know or understand the basis of the rumored concern of the FDA, but it wasn't so completely out of the realm of possibility that I could dismiss it with 100% confidence given the rumor's purported origins.

My experience with such rumors is that there is often a grain of truth to them, however distorted the story has become.
