Much of this "analyst bash" results from their jargon
of "buy", "hold", "outperform", which really is just a
bunch of euphemisms created because of their conflict of
interest inherent in doing their jobs( they need a relationship
with the company, their decisions can generate trading profits
and the fact that their employer may be in investment banking
business where the company they cover is a client).

That does not mean all of them act on the conflict of interest.
Like anything else some are probably worse than others.
