Dear Jane:

Further on the authority of Paul's writings: I believe that Peter was endorsing Paul's writings but warning that they were difficult to understand and that some were twisting them for their own purposes, just as some do to this very day. I don't believe that Peter was in any way questioning Paul's authority. I respectfully submit the scriptures you referred to just in case there are non-Christians reading this post who do not have a Bible readily available:

2 Pet 3:15-18
15 Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
(NIV)

Respectfully submitted in Christ, Tom

Jane,
<This will be a good opportunity for brother Chris, Sgt. of Arms of the Inquisition Tribunal which doth judge you unsound to enter Heaven, a chance to read the evidence against you as out of your own mouth. And not as railed at by Emile. >

I'm always looking for a good deputy, want to apply? -chris
