A guess, by empathetic channeling, that a typical German may be concerned that team USA, w/ or w/o team Britain, might push the Russians so much that the latter starts costing the Germans dollars, and eventually blood. In another words, EU is actually just another ‘big-stick’ Latin America, as Africa was a playing ground of Europe. If korea and Vietnam can be volunteered as proxies in meaningless fights, and Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Libya can be turned into wasted states, what makes Germany so exceptional ?
