1/18/2019 Contest update The state of the union could be better but the state of biotechs remained healthy for another week. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 14.39% YTD (vs. 13.40% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 14.18% YTD (vs. 12.65% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 15.76% YTD (vs. 13.84% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 7.87% YTD (vs. up 5.07% YTD a week ago). SANCTU’s portfolio, up 25.74% YTD, hopped into first place with HOOD’s portfolio, up 25.15% YTD, dropping to second place and DOUGH’s portfolio, up 25.03% YTD, a smidgen back in third place. At Friday's close, all 39 Contest portfolios were still in the green, with 21 beating the NBI and 12 beating the high flying SPSIBI. The 167 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 15.49% and a median YTD gain of 12.81%. Below is the Top Ten list.
