Who do you think is picking up most of the tab? The individual investor. Ever notice that when you sell a stock, there is a very small percentage deducted from the net proceeds. This is the fine being passed along.

I don't think that this 1/300 of 1% fee on sales has anything to do with the recent Nasdaq settlement since it has been there many decades before Nasdaq even existed.

Steve:
I need your educated opinion.

With regards to Level 2 data. Other than not viewng the + or - beside a MM bid/ask or who's buying or selling. What disadvantages are there if you just viewed the time and sales tick data, bid/ask sizes and a tick chart?

I'm new at this, but it seems you could still determine supply and demand without spending for level 2 data.

Thanks

Dominick
