How about a project where we see how well we can do with simple S&R type of chart constructs like MAs, trend lines, and regions of S&R. We can discuss strength of the trend, OB&OS, and other aspects of the price action strictly through observations of the chart and no additional indicators like MACD and so forth. At the very least, this woulde be a good exersize that we all can learn from. We can also talk about the practical aspects of trading the chart like where stops can be set and answers to questions like: do we consider the trend to be finished when the price compramised its trend line? Or do we wait for a downtrend of lower highs and lower lows to be established by the stock? What does this mean to our trading the chart? What is the best way to guard against responding to false breakouts or breakdowns?

I remember back not so long ago the MTV channel encouraged bands to play their music "unplugged" instead of relying on all that signal processing of the sound. I think it helped both the musician and the listenter to get back in touch with what makes music work for them. I see this project I am proposing in a simular way. Also, this can benefit the beginner at the same time.
