Zeev:

I'm not certain about all the HK banks. I do know for a fact that
HSBC was initially reported to have exposure of $US 3billion. The
TRUTH is, their total exposure is $HK 323 million (roughly $US 41million).

SI used a quote from one of my posts on the HK board in their
ASian Tigers feature that describes the Peregrine loan to Indonesia.
As I noted, I haven't seen anything like it since the S&L loan debacle
here in the late 1980's.

While this situation has an indirect bearing on WFR, out of respect to
those who prefer this topic be a little less broad, I would offer these two links for research:

scmp.com

hkstandard.com

Also, if it is something you wish to pursue, you know I will gladly respond in detail via e-mail to you.

Regards,
Doug
