I've gone back and reread the news release at biz.yahoo.com

Mr. Robert Gray, a research manager at International Data Corporation is quoted in the news release. International Data Corporation? Are these guys anything like DataQuest? I guess practically every industry has some kind of entity that serves as a nonbinding monitor and consultant. So is it possible that International Data Corporation is the funder and source for the project? The release does not specifically state as such, but the implication is there. Why give Mr. Gray or his company any mention then? Mr. Gray makes a big deal about the independence of the study. It's the independence issue that seperates CPAs from any other bean counter and what the public has confidence in . I'll be very interest to see what C&L does and won't put talking to someone at the firm about the matter out of the question.

Good night all. Le Femme Nikita is coming on so I'll be in front of the TV for the next hour!

<< I recall talking to someone in the know back in November who thought this could be a blow out quarterly earnings report. Is that anyone elses understanding? >>

Marks, Indeed, it was about the last day of Comdex in November when there was a surge in volume to about 1MM and price, up 1 7/8, I belive, to 15. There were many 50K blocks bought on that day. Frank, from IR confirmed this. However, he would not/could not account for the volume and price surge on that particular day. Who knows what it was. Not likely projected earnings for a report two months away, but I don't know.

The company is sharing the fact in the last couple of days that they are but one step short of full NAZ listing. Which may or may not account for 430K shares traded the day before IR shared that fact with (in effect) the thread.

I don't think the C&L study means much at this point. The story is out. If C&L recants, they'll have to do some real fancy foot work to all-of-a-sudden make EMC whole again. Even if they do, MTIC's products speak for themselves. Read some of these for yourself:

mti.com

And don't forget, the supposed "story" saying "hold everything" from C&L supposedly from PRnewswire does not exist on prnewswire. Check for yourself:

http//www.prnewswire.com

They have a good search engine that takes you to a number of recent stories on RAID, MTIC and EMC. But nothing on the phantom story. My opinon, the only one who stands to lose is Coopers and Lybrand- IF the recanting story unfolds.

Good luck,

Greg
