Yes you are reading them correctly, I suspect that future sales,
market perception, and outstanding backlog all have a bearing on the
stock price in addition to EPS. Don't forget our old friend the
B-T-B numbers also having an influence on the mfg sector. EPS is
a backward looking variable IMO and pertains to the past quarters
performance. Current/future sales numbers are more forward looking
concerning upcoming performance expectations for future quarters.
It's not "What have you done for me, but, what are you going
to do for me?"
that counts to the market.
