Randy --

Do you think S. Korea dram makers will get anywhere with
the WTO? (Personally, I hope not.) I know here on the
Cymer thread, most are dreading the slowdown of S. Korean
dram makers, but I'm not in that camp. I think the dram
market has to self correct at some point and may end up
correcting several times -- consolidating, shaking out
smaller players, etc. I think Cymer will be okay even
if they do slow down since other semiconductor segments
are still going strong. The DSP competition is just
beginning to heat up between TXN, LU, MOT and ADI, and
that market is just getting into .25 and below. TXN is
coming out with their .18 chip in 1998 sometime.

I found an article that I've been looking for that states
the debt equity ratios of the top three S. Korean dram
makers -- and it's not pretty.
