I spoke with my friend at C&L this morning. Contrary to what I thought, C&L does not have a seperate body of consultants operating outside of the CPA firm. There is a consulting division, but it does not have the independence from the auditors similiar to Arthur Anderson. Unfortunately, this whole thing makes C&L look very bad. I guess we need to see the re-release of the study while currently giving them the benefit of the doubt. But if any material changes are noted, say EMC should suddenly be declared a superior product in direct contrast to the previous release, call the attorneys. Once again, I hope we are making a big stink about nothing.
