"Norm,
What about the dollar? Unless all sales are made in dollars the currencies in many of these countries have collapsed against the dollar. Prices for articles in Indonesia are about 70% higher due to currency translations..."

Hi Karl,

Even though the indications are that the US$ will continue to be strong and the turmoil in SEA will be with us for at least the next 2 or 3 quarters, we need to keep in mind that there are compensating factors including:

- if I am not mistaken, a portion of ADPT components are manufactured
in SEA.

- because SE Asians are highly resourceful (eg Koreans donating their
gold to their government...) and are willing to make sacrifices,
they will find a fairly quick resolution to their financial mess.

- the power-to-be SE Asians especially those in the business community
are savvy enough to know that for them to remind economically
competitive they have to continue to invest in technology. That
investment will, no doubt, decline in the near term but a good guess
is that it's nowhere near as much as many of us in the west think.
