* Support for Network Servers

A feature I've asked SYCR for. Wasn't told that they wouldn't do it, but was told that it might be a possibility in a later version. I think that would be the one feature that would make it desirable in the business community. Much cheaper and quicker to add huge drives to a fileserver (or setup a new fileserver specifically for this purpose) than to add or replace drives in the client workstations. In my own benchmarking, I've found that file access to a good fileserver with lots of RAM through a 100MB pipeline is often faster than a local drive.

Orphan File Prevention When Uninstalling

Looks like they've encountered the same problem in BD that I have.

Gimme Space automatically detects, upon boot-up, those classes of files that should never be moved.

Very good idea and one that's not terribly difficult to implement. But BD doesn't do this.

I haven't gotten my hands on GS, but if what is being stated about it is true, it's a far superior product.

Tommy.. Have not used BD but understood that it supported all drives..All disk programs prevent deletion of operating systems..The only way this can be done is through the Win. Uninstall..Chris and Bob Z have been using BD for sometime now maybe they can comment..I presently use two operating systems on different drives W/O BD ..You also have the ability with Win Exp. to move programs and files to different drives. PG seems to offer a neat feature of equal dist. of the drives..This is a feature I would not like..I would want to control information going to my HD..

I saw 'Gimme Space' at Comp USA yesterday. On the box, it has a comparison chart of features with 'Big Disk' that says essentially the same thing as you just posted.

Just in case anybody cares, 'Big Disk & Zipper' were on the end cap of the utilities isle.

I couldn't find 'Eye Catcher' anywhere....
