Just noticed I somehow screwed up again on my Week’s Top 5 Gainers & Losers. The numbers are actually for the past two weeks. Hopefully, I’ll get it right in next week’s update.
Peace & good health,
Bulba

Bulba! You came from nowhere to seize first-place in one bound!
That's an inspiration for us also-rans which deserves to be trumpeted. You're too modest.

3/1/2019 Contest update
Biotech investors celebrated the 1st day of March and showed no concern for the impending ides, a triple witching day. After all, why worry about witch hunts when biotechs are getting buyout bids at big premiums. Here are the happy numbers.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 20.41% YTD (vs. 14.57% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 18.92% YTD (vs. 14.42% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 27.54% YTD (vs. 19.08% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 14.47% YTD (vs. up 13.45% YTD a week ago).
(My own Contest portfolio continues to defy my humble expectations and has taken on a life of its own. So, henceforth, I will refer to it as BULBA’s portfolio.)
Contest leader BULBA’s portfolio extended its hot streak. Getting an extra boost from the week’s top performing stock, MGTA, it is now up 61.58% YTD. HOOD’s portfolio, up 48.54% YTD, held on to second place and SANCTU’s portfolio, up 47.40%, moved up to third place.
(My Contest portfolio, by the way, holds both the top YTD gainer, IMDZ, and top YTD loser, CFRX.)
At Friday's close, 37 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 24 beating the NBI and 14 even beating the sizzling SPSIBI.
The 167 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 27.49% and a median YTD gain of 22.51%.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: None.
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits & mergers, greatly appreciated.)
Enjoy a relaxing weekend biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
