Scott,

I choose SUNW. You apparantly haven't heard of their new Darwin
line of computers (aka NT killers).

$2995 buys you 270mhz ultra sparc processor, 64 MB main memory,
4.3GB hard disk drive, 100mbps ethernet port, 64-bit address and
data buses, VLSI technology with 4 PCI slots (PC compatible cards are a-ok), and Solaris with wabi to run Windows applications (like
Microsoft Office).

Tests have shown that the Darwin Ultra 5, Sun's lowest-end product,
is 31% faster w/cpu processing than the high end Compaq, or HP
PC's running Pentium 266 mhz processors and TWICE as fast in the I/O
slots.

Not only do you get more bang for the buck than with a PC, you also
get a stable OS, instead of some piece of shit like NT. End-users
can select from list of 12,000 different applications that run on
Solaris. And you get Java (100% pure Java).

Bill Gates is going to get his ass kicked.

cheers,

cherylw
