This is how stupidity works--talking about "capitalism" or "socialism" as though either of them is one thing and everyone knows what is being talked about. At least AOC partially defined what she meant: that the "quest for profit" overrides any other motive. But then the question becomes, is this really true, even in the US? IMHO, it is partly true and partly not true. But getting into the weeds of how this is so is very difficult, especially in the context of a political campaign or a debate on television, as these lend themselves to sound bites and slogans (as happened on that Morning Joe discussion I linked a few days ago; and they tend to be slightly better about this on that show than on many others, but they too fall prey to slogans, especially Scarborough himself and his wife).

I gather you are not a supporter of anti-trust efforts. Did you think the US enforcement of antitrust law
against Microsoft was a good thing? As I recall that's about the last time government paid any attention to it....

She's political... oh horrors! Reaching for the smelling salts. A candidate for president is political?
Since she has backed measures which would cut deeply into health insurance and HMO
profits, your example is specious. Apples and bananas.
Where do get the idea she thinks the tech companies are a problem simply because of their revenue?

I don't believe you answered my question about the last major government anti-trust
enforcement action which was against Microsoft. Good thing or not?

'It is a lot more nuanced than you think'.
How do you know what I think? You think simply sharing a news article about a candidate's policy positions show a bias?
Remember what they say about assume....
What I actually do think is that the Democrats are laying out some interesting ideas as this campaign gets underway and that it will be interesting to see which ones get traction.
Overall, I think Warren's biggest problem is the 'schoolmarm' factor.
No offense to eppie :)
