You can't have what you want. Not now anyway. It took 25 years to destroy the political norms. You can't fix it with some magical "transcendental leader" You should learn from experience. How did Obama's "Big Tent" approach work out? Win enough times to establish a new normal. Then and only then, after you have established the new norm, gradually reduce the polarization. This will automatically happen anyway as the older generation dies and the new adopt to the normal.
