I got my MScEE the same way. I seldom went to the classes except for like once in a week or so to see, how far the prof had come in the books and what other non-book material he was using, which was handed out over time and which I knew I would have to fetch in time before exams. I had learned the hard way during the 1st year, that assuming I had all books and other material on hand, I could learn it all at home studying 8 hours a day for 3 months. The most embarrassing part of it was, however, when I had to go the office for the purpose of collecting 100% of that additional stuff created by and handed out by the prof during the lessons only. Only he in person was allowed to hand out this, so that would be in a face-to-face meeting with him in person ... Now, it used to go like this: "So I see you are part of my course, but I don't think I have seen you during the classes? ..." 'Yes, sir, that is true, but now I need to make good for that until exam time, so I really would like to get a complete set of copies to study!'. Typically the prof put up a smile and said "you are welcome, and it is nice to see you on board!" ... Well, it did wok out OK and I got my MScEE in my way, while I could work and earn some money rather that falling asleep during long classes.
