>> It's no wonder environmentalism goes hand-in-hand with socialism. Nothing reduces our carbon footprint better than killing an economy.

This a key aspect of liberalism and how they attempt to achieve their goals.

I remember back in the 1970s when liberals were fighting to nationalize the oil companies and demonizing their profits. They claimed only the government could manage this key natural resource for the benefit of the nation. The argued it was immoral for companies make profits and exploit poor people who needed energy... fossil fuels.

They failed and now these very same companies are providing cheap energy. Fossil fuels are now so cheap, and consumed in such quantity, that the planet is being destroyed (as claimed).

So, in the spirt of try, try and try again, the liberals now are demanding authoritative socialism as the solution.

As I have discussed with Wharfie, liberals really don't care about CO2 and climate change. They care about government control of the economy and the power associated with such control.

We see the exact liberal logic as applied to healthcare and their demand for single payer.

" it's your business whether I buy an incandescent or halogen bulb over an LED bulb that may or may not dim the way I like it"
It's your business to find one you like, and, if you can't, to start your own business making them.

" it's your business whether I buy an SUV over a Chevy Bolt"
For now, it's our business to insure that you have to buy a new SUV that gets better gas mileage than your last one. Eventually, it will be our business to make sure that you won't be able to buy gasoline. That won't happen before '50.
