He is absolutely correct in this:

the concept that, in rising to meet that challenge, there's a ton of economic opportunity.

That is where the anti-environmental people have done a faceplant, along with the economists who claim to support them.

When we toss out old systems and completely replace them with new more innovative systems, a lot of wealth is created in the process. Its a mistake, made by many economists to claim the opposite. We could for example all still be using land line phones, instead of having had the mobile gadget revolution. You need to consider that the switch to electric systems over fossil fuels has many similar aspects about it. The economy didn't suffer or shrink with the rise of mobile phones. Neither will it suffer or shrink with the transition to a new fuel economy. To claim otherwise is idiotic...

The Green New Deal is out there so all the D's have to deal with it. I thought Buttigieg modulated it well. He supported the concept without supporting the planks. He seems to me to be very smart in how he's positioning himself. He also comes across as sincere in the process.

As Lane said he “modulated” (excellent term) it well.

But it is so absurd from the ground up I don’t know how a person can associate with it and not look foolish. The notion of this vast expenditure toward an utterly unproven objective is reckless and wasteful on its face.

And if you are going to invest in a different technology the snap judgment toward solar and wind rather than 4G nuclear, a far better backbone for energy dependence, really borders on insanity.

Politician, like others, need to keep in mind that we have had a long string of urgent disaster predictions , not one of which has materialized. So no, some goofs have imposed a bogus 12 year time frame and because this idiot AOC jumped on the bandwagon everyone is wanting to throw money at it.

This borders on insanity.
